CONSULTING
I offer consulting sessions on issues of disability, identity, digital culture, and education.
I offer consulting sessions on issues of disability, identity, digital culture, and education.
Since receiving formal disability accommodations 5 years ago and beginning to professionally research disability in higher education 4 years ago, I have accumulated diverse experience reviewing classroom accessibility, making recommendations to improve classroom accessibility, collaborating with professors to implement formal accommodations, and advocating for both formal and informal accommodations on behalf of myself and my peers.
Examples of past consultations—shared with permission:
Individuals and families navigating disability accommodations processes
Professors worried about balancing student needs, personal bandwidth, and preservation of academic rigor
Curriculum designers seeking to maximize accessibility and identify potential blind spots, both in-classroom and on learning management systems (LMS)
Staff in disability support positions hoping to gather the perspectives and real-world experiences of disabled college students
As a former "trans kid," I have spoken to countless individuals, groups, and communities across the political spectrum on my experience with transition, detransition, and general wellbeing. In response to a culture that is both increasingly polarized on these issues and intolerant to their discourse, I aim to act as a bridge-builder, advocating for less mud-slinging and more nuanced discussion of what sex-related distress means and how to respond to it.
Examples of past consultations—shared with permission:
Clinicians treating dysphoric people, both regularly and in emergency contexts
Educators facilitating discussion related to the subjects of sex, sexuality, and gender
Educators teaching students who are dysphoric, transitioning, detransitioning, and/or nonconforming
Researchers conducting research on or about dysphoric, transitioning, detransitioning, and/or nonconforming populations
Lawmakers curious about dysphoric, transitioning, detransitioning, and/or nonconforming populations
Dysphoric people
Families of dysphoric people
People ambivalent about transition
People ceasing and/or reversing transition
People seeking additional perspectives on transition
People who don't conform to cultural sex roles
and more!
ONLINE EDUCATION
I graduated from an online charter school, Texas Connections Academy at Houston, in May of 2020. Between my time at TCAH and COVID-era UT Austin, I spent a total of 7 years of my education either mostly or entirely online. I also helped bridge the gap between online education in theory and in practice by assisting with the revision of TCAH's AP English Literature curriculum after discovering the logistical impracticality of one of its pre-built assignments.
ASPIRATIONAL FOCUS
I have wide-spanning, often-niche interests and have had to synthesize productive directions for these interests for as long as I can remember. While pursuing my undergraduate degree, I switched my major four times until I found an interdisciplinary honors program that allowed me to weave my many interests into a single plan of study. I have helped several friends brainstorm similar plans-of-action, including how to market their diverse, seemingly "irrelevant" skillsets to achieve their aspirations.
SOCIAL MEDIA
I got my first social media account at age 10 and spent most of my adolescence online. This experience had significant impact on my social development and resulted, at least in part, in the deterioration of my mental health leading into emerging adulthood. I have since withdrawn from (most) social media participation and am working hard to implement effective boundaries and systems around how I use social interconnectivity technology like smartphones.
In 2025, I wrote and published my senior honors thesis on the influence of social media on identity formation.
You can read that thesis here.
CODEPENDENCE
I was in a codependent relationship with another woman for over five years, from ages 16 to 22. I know what it's like to lose yourself in your love for another—and the kinds of upbringings that result in the tendency to self-sacrifice. I am happy to share my experiences setting boundaries both within and after leaving my codependent relationship, including the steps I am taking to safely date and prevent codependent relapse in the present day. I also have experience pursuing and obtaining a protective order, which I am happy to consult on for free.
I DO NOT PROVIDE NOR DO I PURPORT TO PROVIDE MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING. CONSULTING WITH ME IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR DISCUSSING YOUR CONCERNS WITH A THERAPIST OR OTHER LICENSED PROFESSIONAL.
